keyword research

Keyword research

Keyword research is just a small part of the whole marketing effort. It has a goal to identify, interact, and convert people that you target as your potential buyers to real and returning customers.

When you are deciding on the business you will run, you will first investigate the state of the market for your product or service.

If you already decided what to do, then you need to find out who are your potential customers. How to get them interested in your product.

Finally, you must have a great product or service, and also you must interact with both potential and existing users. It is important to retain their interest and to convince them to keep using your produce or service.

The most important thing is to match what your targeted user is expecting to find on the internet. Your content might not fit the search intent of the user. In this case, you have to do keyword research and take a good look at search intent as well. Keep in mind that maybe, just maybe, your site operates in a highly competitive industry. In that case, it will take a lot of effort to end up with good rankings.

Keyword research technology and method

Note that keyword in this sense is often not one word, but a phrase that describes the potential buyer intention the best. It will be the set of words that people are most likely to write in the google search bar when trying to solve their problem.

Getting the right set of keywords (phrases) is the one step in getting close to your audience. The second one is to learn how competitive are those words. Bear in mind that if some keyword is very competitive. It is likely that the companies that are doing similar business as you do will invest a lot of money to promote their site using those words. If you are not planning to spend a significant amount of money, then you need to find a different keyword to be discovered on the internet.

This method is known as a niche business. You need to discover a small part of the problem. It must be, however, enough people that will try to find the solution for it.

The key is the ratio between the number of internet audience’s searches and the quantity of the content matching the search. Your goal is to find the most searchable term with the least content on offer. Of course, still keeping the topic that you are trying to promote.

Marketing strategy

It is a big question do you need to invest in advertising like Google PPC or similar. You can try though because Google will then offer you compelling tools for achieving the best result for said amount of money. Unfortunately, everyone that invests more money will have an even better opportunity to be noticed.

Regardless of paid advertisement, it is highly recommended to use Facebook. The same goes for Twitter, LinkedIn, or forums like Quora or Reddit to promote your product for free. But, that requires a significant effort from your side, to be active and engaged on those platforms.

It will take some time

And one more, I think the most important thing. Whichever path you chose, it will take time. Yes, if you put a lot of money into marketing, this time will be shorter. Still, even without additional marketing money (but engaging in channels as mentioned earlier), you will get some visibility in a year or so, especially if you choose the right niche target audience and find out their “pain points.”
